<p>    While some surveys show that 9 out of 10 consumers are unaware what their credit score is, I’d like to quickly share with you how your credit score could be costing you a fortune… in more ways than you can imagine.</p>
<p>     We all know a low credit score will make everything in the world of finance more expensive because of higher interest rates from lenders due to being considered a greater credit risk (i.e. higher interest rates on car, homes and credit cards). While this may be considered common knowledge by some, it’s truly devastating effects are understood by few.</p>
<p>     For example. If you purchase a $200,000 home on a 30 year fixed mortgage at 8% interest instead of 6% (because of your credit score); that 2% is going to end up costing you a total of $96,934.11 over the term of the loan. Now, think about how many “extra” years you’ll have to work to pay off $96,934.11 because of an extra 2% in interest?</p>
<p>     The part few people talk about is all the other areas in life where a low score will increase your cost of living on an annual basis. For example. In addition to paying more for a car, home and credit cards, a low credit score will most likely have you paying more for the following as well.</p>
<p>1.) AUTO INSURANCE. As many as 92% of the 100 largest personal automobile insurers use credit information to underwrite new business, according to a 2001 study by Conning &amp; Co., an insurance-research and asset-management firm.</p>
<p>2.) HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE. It’s thought many insurance companies see a correlation between low credit scores and increased property insurance claims. Therefore, a low score will result in higher rates.</p>
<p>3.) LIFE and HEALTH INSURANCE. Customers who are unable to pay their monthly insurance premium thereby pass along that increased cost to the insurance company whose stuck with the bill… resulting in a loss for the company. Since customers who pay without lapse are more profitable it is felt by many that a low credit score now even affects a monthly life and/or health insurance premium negatively.</p>
<p>    One of the more shocking areas where a low credit score will you cost you is in the area of employment. It’s estimated as many as 42% of employers now do credit checks on applicants before hiring them (according to a 1998 survey by the Society for Human Resource Management).</p>
<p>    While many employers claim they only do it to “verify” information on your application (such as where you live and where you have worked etc.) we can both assume they are taking the liberty to “have a peek” at how you handle your financial affairs as well. According to the Public Research Interest Group (PIRG) as many as 79% all credit reports contain errors — 25% of which are serious enough to cause the denial of credit (according to a 2004 report).</p>
<p>     And that&#8217;s all the more troubling in light of the increasing impact a bad credit report can have, says Ed Mierzwinski, director of PIRG&#8217;s consumer program. &#8220;It&#8217;s outrageous that the credit bureaus are claiming their scores are accurate enough to take people&#8217;s lives and screw with them like this&#8221;.</p>

<p>The use of tobacco and its resulting nicotine addiction is responsible for killing more than 430,000 people each year in the United States, more people than die from car accidents, homicide, suicide, fire, alcohol, cocaine, heroin, and AIDS combined. Tobacco use in some form accounts for around one in three of all deaths from cancer in the United States. Smoking is responsible for 83% of all lung cancer deaths. Smoking also causes cancers of the mouth, larynx, pharynx, esophagus, kidney, bladder, pancreas, uterus, cervix, and some leukemia. Cigarette smoking also can cause lung diseases that can be just as serious as lung cancer. Smokers may develop chronic bronchitis, with their airways blocked up with mucous, forcing them to cough frequently; and, of course, smoking can lead to emphysema, making it difficult for the lungs to perform their function of supplying adequate oxygen to the body. People with these problems tend to tire more easily and this influences them to avoid getting the exercise they need to promote their health. Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 65,000 deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.</p>
<p>Your heart is at risk. Smoking doubles the risk of heart attacks, and, in addition, is a major risk factor for peripheral vascular disease, which is the narrowing of the blood vessels that carry blood to the leg and arm muscles.</p>
<p>Cigarette smokers die much younger than nonsmokers. Based on data collected from 1995 to 1999, the Centers for Disease Control estimated that adult male smokers lost an average of 13.2 years of life and female smokers lost 14.5 years of life because of smoking. For smokers between the ages of 35 and 70 the death rate is three times higher than those who have never smoked.</p>
<p>Tobacco smoke is a major source of indoor pollution. Secondhand smoke causes about 3,000 lung cancer deaths every year among those who do not smoke, and also is a factor in up to 40,000 deaths related to cardiovascular disease for nonsmokers too. Exposure to tobacco smoke in the home increases the severity of asthma for children and is a risk factor for new cases of childhood asthma.</p>
<p>Tobacco is very bad for the reproductive health of a woman, leading to a reduction in fertility and an increased risk of having a miscarriage. If a woman who smokes conceives a child, she may face the possibility of having an early delivery or even a stillbirth. And women who smoke increase the chance that their baby will have a low birth weight.</p>
<p>See the future if you continue this path. If you would take a moment to think of yourself as getting any of the diseases promoted by a smoking and nicotine habit sometime in the future, note how painful it would be for you, both physically and psychologically. Think, for a moment, of how much unhappiness it would create for you and your loved ones, and how it would keep you from enjoying the more healthy life that is yours after you have become a permanent nonsmoker. It is important to fully understand and feel, both consciously and subconsciously, just how negative a nicotine habit is to your overall enjoyment in life so that your mind, both conscious and subconscious, knows, without any delusion, just how much intense suffering will come to you unless you change your course in life.</p>
<p>Now make that picture dimmer and less bright and move it away from you, and watch as it grows darker and smaller. Take a moment to see yourself free of your nicotine addiction in the future. Look at how much healthier you look and feel. You can breathe freely and enjoy the fresh air entering your lungs. Your skin is healthier and you look younger at an older age, while your clothes smell fresher and cleaner. You are totally free of all the physical problems smoking would have caused you. When thought about in this way, it is more pleasurable to not smoke. You’ve found other healthier ways to get pleasure and reward yourself. In fact, cigarettes are now truly disgusting to you. As you see yourself a tobacco-free person, notice, now, that you’re feeling fine, you’re so relieved, you’re so much more at peace, you’re so much happier, so much healthier, and now you’re freer to be who you really want to be. Notice how much more personally self-confident and filled with personal self-esteem you now look and feel.</p>
<p>You may not fully know this, but the positive changes that result from becoming a permanent nonsmoker come sooner and are more pervasive than you ever imagined, making smoking cessation more immediately rewarding for you. Twenty minutes after you have quit, your blood pressure drops back down to the level just before your last cigarette and the temperature of your hands and feet increase toward a more normal level. Eight hours after you have quit the carbon monoxide level in your blood will have returned to a normal level. Just 24 hours after you have stopped smoking, your chance of a heart attack will already be decreasing. In the following weeks your circulation will be improved and the functioning of your lungs, even as soon as several weeks to 3 months’ time, will have improved by 30%. In subsequent weeks you will be able to look forward to other significant health improvements. Sinus congestion, shortness of breath, and coughing will have decreased. The cilia function within your lungs will return to normal, enabling you to deal with mucous and clean the lungs, and thus reduce any infection. One year after quitting, your extra risk of heart disease will be half that of someone who has continued to be smoker. After 5 years the risk of a stroke can be reduced to that of a nonsmoker. Ten years after quitting smoking your lung cancer rate will be half of that of someone who has continued to smoke, and your risk of cancers of the mouth, throat, esophagus, pancreas, kidney, and bladder will all have decreased. Fifteen years after you have quit and become a permanent nonsmoker your risk of coronary heart disease will have fallen to that of someone who does not smoke. A 35-year-old man who becomes a permanent nonsmoker will, on average, increase his life expectancy by 5.1 years. And, of course, the quality of his life will be greatly increased during all his years, no matter how long he lives. Even smokers who quit after age 50 substantially reduce their risk of dying early. The argument that it is too late to quit smoking because the damage is already done is just not true.</p>
<p>It is important for people to know that nicotine is as addictive as cocaine and heroin. As matter of fact, it works to create and maintain an addiction in a way that is similar to those drugs. The addictive nature of nicotine is created by its ability to release dopamine in the brain, a chemical that creates feelings of pleasure. This is similar to the physiological and psychological effects of both cocaine and heroin. Recent research has shown that there is also some chemical in cigarette smoke that reduces the level of monoamineoxidase (MOA), which plays a role in breaking down dopamine. This helps create an overall increase in dopamine and thus contributes to the desire to keep taking more nicotine.</p>
<p>Cigar smokers who inhale absorb nicotine as rapidly as a cigarette smoker, while those who choose not to inhale absorb a significant amount of nicotine through the lining of their mouth, as do those who use smokeless tobacco. Even though these smokeless users do not hurt their lungs because they do not inhale tobacco smoke, the nicotine from their habit is still very highly addictive and causes the heart to beat faster and their blood pressure to go up. Chewing tobacco hurts a person’s ability to taste and smell, often causes damage to gum tissue, and can even result in the loss of teeth. More seriously, chewing tobacco is full of cancer causing chemicals that can give people cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, and esophagus. Many people who get these particular cancers were users of chewing tobacco. So powerful are the cancer-causing chemicals in chewing tobacco that even very young users get these cancers.</p>
<p>Nicotine’s effects are short-lived within the body, leading people to continually give themselves more during the day. Eventually, the continued use of nicotine leads to what is referred to as tolerance. The drug is no longer as effective as it was, and people need higher and higher amounts of it just to get the same physiological and psychological effects that they experienced earlier. That is why people tend to increase their usage of nicotine-delivering substances the more they have been using them.</p>
<p>There are even short-term effects related to tolerance. Nicotine disappears from the body in a few hours and some tolerance is lost overnight. Smokers often report that the first cigarettes of the day, newly introducing nicotine to the body after several hours of forced abstinence during sleep, have the strongest effect and are enjoyed the best. As the day goes on, and they smoke more and more cigarettes, tolerance is created, and each cigarette has less effect.</p>
<p>Nicotine also suppresses the production of insulin by the pancreas, which acts to raise blood sugar and causes the liver to release glycogen into the blood. In addition, cigarettes themselves are actually between 8% and 18% sugar, so smokers who puff a cigarette frequently during the day are actually given themselves blood sugar-raising hits throughout the day. All this contributes to smokers experiencing a slight sugar high from increased blood glucose. As a result of all of this many smokers also experience a lessening of appetite. This may explain why people gain weight after stopping smoking. They are trying to maintain their prior elevated glucose level, which was found to be pleasurable. Any craving that a new nonsmoker might experience is most noticeable in the morning and mid-afternoon, when low blood sugar is no longer blocked by smoking.</p>
<p>Nicotine is biphasic in nature. It can both stimulate and relax a person, depending on how they smoke. Nicotine doesn’t work in the body the same way alcohol does, but they both exhibit biphasic activity. People often become uninhibited and more excitable after drinking, while at other times they may become sedated and eventually fall asleep.</p>
<p>Cessation of nicotine intake results in withdrawal symptoms that strongly influence anyone trying to end their tobacco use to start consuming it again. These symptoms can include headache, irritability, restlessness, tiredness, feelings of depression, poor concentration, and anger and frustration. While the most powerful influence on withdrawal is the pharmacological effects of nicotine, many behavioral aspects affect the nature of the withdrawal symptoms. For many smokers, the sight, feel, and smell of a cigarette and the rituals involved in obtaining, handling, lighting, and smoking the cigarette are all strongly associated with the pleasure of smoking and when absent can contribute to psychological feelings of withdrawal. While nicotine gum and patches can act to alleviate the pharmacological aspects of withdrawal, some cravings may persist because of these missed behavioral aspects of smoking. This is a problem in quitting smoking that can be easily dealt with and greatly minimized through the use of hypnosis.</p>
<p>One of the clearest indicators of the power of the effects of nicotine is that while over two-thirds of all tobacco users want to stop using it only a small number are able to do so permanently. Each year, nearly 35 million people make a concerted effort to quit smoking. Only 20% of those trying succeed in abstaining for as long as a year and only a small percent of these are able to do so by using willpower alone. Less than 7% succeed in abstaining for more than a year. Most of those trying to stop start smoking again within days.</p>
<p>Over 90% of smokers who try to quit without seeking treatment fail, with most relapsing within a week. Most smokers take several attempts to quit before they finally succeed.</p>
<p>To reduce the risk of lung cancer and other related cancers that are caused by smoking, smokers need to stop smoking completely. It has been found that the amount of carcinogens inhaled remains high even as they cut back on the number of cigarettes they use. Research has shown that this even applies when smokers are supplementing their intake of nicotine with the use of patches. The reason this is true is believed to be that the smokers inhale more deeply on the fewer cigarettes they do smoke to feed their addiction and the nicotine patches made little difference in how long and deeply the users inhaled the smoke from their cigarettes. Thus, the patches made little difference in the overall amount of carcinogens introduced into their bodies by their smoking habit. The conclusion is that patches do not significantly decrease a smoker’s risk of cancer. Possible theories as to why this is so is that patches fail to provide the high that the smokers desire, nor do they provide a substitute for the enjoyment that people get from the act of physically enjoying a cigarette. Another reason may be addictive compounds found in cigarette smoke that aren’t in the patches.</p>
<p>Sometimes in life failure is not necessarily an indicator of the difficulty or even the impossibility of accomplishing something. It just tells you what doesn’t work. Fortunately, seeing a qualified certified hypnotist is effective for changing a smoker into a nonsmoker for life. Not only do they become nonsmokers, but they do so more easily and comfortably then they ever expected. With the new cooperation of their subconscious they are able to lose their desire to smoke cigarettes and cigars. There is some physiological discomfort during the withdrawal period following the cessation of tobacco use, but with hypnosis these effects can be mitigated and the period of discomfort shortened. Hypnosis is also able to greatly reduce and even eliminate any tendency to gain weight after smoking cessation. In my clinical practice, I typically see clients only once for complete and permanent smoking cessation.</p>

It is nothing out of the ordinary, and in most men, it does not hamper the man from performing penetrative sex. However, in some people there is a condition called as Peyronie’s disease. Men suffering from this disease have very large curvatures of their penises, so much so that penetrative sex becomes a difficulty for them. It is in this case that penis curves need to be surgically corrected.</p>
<p>Any deviation of the male penis from the straight position can be termed as a penis curve. The penis is a highly flexible organ, and due to this it can curve in any position. It can be tilted to the right or to the left, or even upwards and downwards. Even among people with penis curves, there are different extents of curvatures.</p>
<p>The human penis is about 5.5 to 7.5 inches long on an average when erect. Of course, there are men with penises on both sides of this scale. The main bulk of the penis is a spongy tissue called as the corpus cavernosa. The corpus cavernosa contains of two channels of spongy tissues which run through the length on both sides of the penis. In healthy men, both the channels of the spongy tissues grow equally and the penis becomes straight. However, if for some reason, one channel of the corpus cavernosa grows more than the other, then it would lead the penis to get inclined on the other side.</p>
<p>This generally occurs during injury. In men who suffer accidents on one side of the penis, the spongy tissues on that side may not grow properly. This would lead to a droop on the other side. Even wearing tight underwear may cause irreparable damage to the penis and cause it to gain an unnatural curve. Men who indulge in very hectic sexual intercourse could damage their penises. One example of this is the wrong use of the woman on top position. This position has the possibility of the penis coming out often and this could tear some of the ligaments. Anal sex is also responsible for penis curvatures.</p>
<p>The above are some of the mechanical factors that cause penis curves. However, penis curves can also be caused due to biological factors. The Peyronie’s disease is one of the most important causative factors. Peyronie’s disease is a condition in which a scar develops on one side of the penis without any apparent reason. This stops the growth of the penis on that particular side and hence the penis begins to droop on the other side. In small children, there could be penis curves due to inexplicable reasons. These are congenital defects, which must be corrected in the younger days itself. Contrary to popular belief, masturbation does not cause penis curves. However, if there is an injury during masturbation – as might happen when a young boy experiments with his penis in his early pubertal days – then penis curves could develop in the future.</p>
<p>Generally speaking, a moderate penis curve poses no problems to men. Penises that are curved can be used quite effectively for sexual penetration, and does not pose a problem to either partner. There is also no relation whatsoever between penis curves and impotence. Penis curves are just a cosmetic problem, and they do not interfere with the reproductive system of the male in any way.</p>
<p>Nowadays, penis curvatures are mostly treated by surgical methods. This is a corrective tissue surgery and hence it needs to be performed at the hands of a very skilful surgeon. If the curvature of the penis is caused due to a scar retained by an injury or due to Peyronie’s disease, then the method employed is to inject the scar with Verapamil. This drug causes the scar to heal itself. Healing the scar in most cases corrects the curvature of the penis.</p>
<p>Men are also increasingly using natural herbs and their extracts for the treatment of their curved penises. The efficacy of these herbs is still being checked into by leading pharmaceutical companies of the advanced countries, and most of them have yielded positive results. <p>For some peculiar reason, whenever I address a health issue and my male friends are present, the discussion is quickly redirected to another subject as they try to avoid the discussion. I recently encountered the same phenomenon and one of my friends responded that men are feeling guilty of making mistakes when it comes to their health. From forgetting to eat their daily fruit and veggies indulging in a hamburger of French fries, to scheduling an appointment with the doctor only when the symptoms they have been experiencing for weeks intensify, men feel guilty for not taking care of their health and try to avoid any type of discussion that reminds them of that fact.</p>
<p>If you are familiar with the old story that men do not need to ask for street advice, as they can always find their way, they also generally tend not to seek out help when it comes to their health as they are always capable of surpassing the problem they have been facing and heal themselves. In fact, statistics reveal that women worry more about their health status than men do, and they take more preventative measures to protect it. After conducting my own focus group with some of my male friends, I discovered that this is totally true. Most of them avoid going for their regular check-ups, especially younger men, and decide to pay a visit to the doctor&#8217;s office only when something is broken, usually because a woman is present and insists that this is serious and should not be left to chance. Then it is only logical that men have, on average, a shorter life expectancy than women by six years.</p>
<p>But although this can be partly explained due to societal standards that portray men to be strong and touch, this potentially life-threatening health negligence cannot be justified. Enduring pain and being able to overcome any type of problem they face does not seem as an adequate explanation for this type of problematic behavior. The truth is that men tend to view doctor&#8217;s visits as uncomfortable and involving potentially painful procedures and in general men are not capable of handling or enduring pain. While women are biologically capable of handling the pains of a pregnancy they are also more open to discuss <a href="http://www.tierramwilson.com" target=_self>health issues</a> and educated themselves regarding the threats associated with their health.</p>
<p>If one only considers the fact that the magazine&#8217;s and website&#8217;s focus is not on men&#8217;s health compared to the women&#8217;s health issues discussed, it is only logical to conclude that men&#8217;s health does not seem to be a priority either for men or for society. It is not that men do not get sick or are not experiencing signs of weakness from time to time; it is rather that their social role does not permit them to look or express that weakness.</p>

What started out as a routine sick visit for the girl soon turned into a economic nightmare after her tonsils were found to be enlarged and she was scheduled for immediate blood tests. For this young woman, the results of the blood tests showed abnormalities in her tonsils, and she was immediately scheduled for a emergency tonsillectomy. Even before this surgery the costs of this unexpected trip were already high because of the blood tests, and primary checkup, and now this young woman has to get emergency surgery performed on her tonsils. This already is a nightmare, and now besides thinking about her health and well being she now has to worry about the costs of the trip, which is far more than she can afford being a college student. She most likely will have to get a loan or drop out of college in order to pay for this expensive visit, little did she know that for a fraction of the price that she will have paid during this visit she may have been able to insure herself under a Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plan.</p>

<p>I Love Myself Unconditionally</p>
<p>In developing a solid self-esteem it is imperative that we grow to love ourselves unconditionally. This means that we love our thoughts &#8211; the good ones and the bad ones, we love our emotions &#8211; the ecstatic ones and the ones that teach us to honour our feelings, and we love our physical being &#8211; in all its beauty and glory &#8211; regardless our of size or age.</p>
<p>Here are some ways that you can grow in love with yourself, unconditionally in these areas:</p>
<p>Loving your thoughts: at some point it is necessary for us to consciously monitor our thoughts; not to judge them but rather to become aware of them. They drive our actions, or inactions &#8211; whatever the particular thought would need to manifest itself as our reality. It is especially important to become aware of limiting, outmoded thoughts. One question that is helpful to ask ourselves is this: &#8220;What would I have to be thinking in order for this circumstance, issue problem to be my reality?&#8221;</p>
<p>Once you have an idea of what your thoughts are and what your paradigms are made up of and also what beliefs make-up those thoughts you can work to change them To change any thought or belief you must first accept it, and then love it as you would a dear friend. Consider how it has helped you even if that help has resulted in less than desirable outcomes. The gift is in seeing how we thought certain things; expecting positive outcomes without seeing the limitations that existed in truth behind the thought.</p>
<p>Secondly, write the thought or thoughts on a piece of paper. On a second sheet of paper write new, more life affirming thoughts and repeat these to yourself several times a day until they form your new consciousness. As a final step, and to solidify letting go of the old, burn the paper with all of your self-defeating thoughts and beliefs.</p>
<p>Loving your emotions: our emotions, when left to fester become intertwined with our thoughts and give them the fuel to create in appropriate actions and behaviours. As a female Pisces, I am highly emotional and becoming spiritually emotionally strong has been a real challenge yet a great sense of joy for me, in its accomplishment. Loving our emotions unconditionally requires us to be brutally honest with ourselves about how we feel in all circumstances. When we feel angry, painful emotions we need to honour them and get to the root of their cause. Anger and pain are often an indication that something needs to change. Healthy expression of our anger is essential in releasing it. I have learned the fine art of screaming into pillows. Another great exercise is to bat pillows, write your feelings out on paper and burn it to release it.</p>
<p>Love and respect your emotions; they are your guide to what&#8217;s working in your life or not. Be willing to understand the cause of your emotion and change anything that is toxic, abusive or unhealthy in any way.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re constantly caught up in feelings of guilt, forgive yourself.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re constantly caught up in feelings of resentment, forgive the person you resent.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re constantly angry, be brave enough to change that which angers you.</p>
<p>If you are constantly worried, seek to take a &#8220;healthy concerned&#8221; approach to your life.</p>
<p>Most of all, seek to feel the joy, the peace, the love and the beauty that comes from within by claiming it and by becoming more connected to your soul. Your soul is a direct link to your higher emotions that are your birthright to feel and express.</p>
<p>Loving your body: our bodies are of our creation, before we were ever born. Whatever we seem to dislike about our bodies and our health are present for the sole purpose that we learn to love it, just as it is now. You cannot change anything about your physical being without loving it first and sometimes we simply have accept and love that which we cannot change, such as our age, our height and our body type, etc.</p>
<p>There are a few things you can do to assist you in their love and acceptance of your body, or parts of your body, that you are struggling with.</p>
<p>Put your hands on the part of you that you are dissatisfied with and simply breathe into it. Breathe deeply for about two or three minutes, allowing yourself the freedom from thoughts that come up as you do. Simply allow the thoughts and feelings to pass, and keep breathing into that area. Eventually you will come to a place of peace through your breathing and you will realize that it was only your thoughts and feelings that distorted your view of your body.</p>
<p>Flaunt the fabulous. Play up the physical aspects of yourself that you do accept and love fully. This will serve to enhance your self-image and attitude about your appearance.</p>
<p>Smile. Nothing looks more beautiful than an authentic smile.</p>
<p>Basically you are the only one who can love yourself unconditionally; at least in the beginning. As you grow to love yourself, others will too!
