Does a gynecologist use a regular tape measure to measure pregnant belly?

Does a gynecologist use a regular tape measure to measure pregnant belly? I was just curious. I am 30 weeks pregnant and everyone says I don’t look like I’m 30 weeks. I thought if a gynecologist uses a regular tape measure then maybe I can monitor the growth of my belly at home.

Yep! Regular Seamtress type measuring tape.

yes, mine does, they use one of the soft ones that you use when sewing clothing. so you don’t have anything cold and hard on your belly, just nice and soft to the touch. you can buy them anywhere they sell fabric or crafts. but i would not worry too much on monitoring your growth, all babies grow differently, and when you drop it will throw you off b/c it will not be as big, but that it is totally up to you.
