What do i expect the first time going to a gynecologist?

Well they will have you undress (mine had me get completely naked because I also got a breast exam.) They will have you put your feet up in stirrups. They will put in a couple fingers to feel if everything is normal. They will take a little tool called a speculum (sp?) and they open it slowly and them through that they take a swab of your uterus with a long q-tip. You dont even feel it. They also use a lot of "lube" so that it is as comfortable for you as possible.
Just tell them that this is your first time and that you are a little nervous. They will explain everything that they are going to do. Also try to relax because tensing up will just make it hurt. And dont be embarrased, they do this all the time. Just try to take deep breaths and look at the ceiling. It goes by fast.

They give you an internal female exam (kind of uncomfortable), do a pap smear (painless), breast exam, weight, overall health. Ask questions if you feel uncomfortable or don’t know what they’re doing. It can be scary if you don’t know what is going on. Make sure the Dr. knows that it’s your first time.

they crank open your vagina and feel up in there then they feel your boobs for lumps. it sucks, but every woman’s gotta get it done.

Well this is a little of what you should expect……….you will be given a paper gown to put on, open in the front by a nurse, then you will wait on the exam table untill the Dr. comes in, he will have you lie down and slid all the way down to the end of the table, he will then place both feet in stirrups and spread your legs wide open………he will then give you a breast exam, feeling around the nipple and breastg area for lumps. Ht will then sit between your legs and insert and metal speculm into your vagina and open it up to look inside and take cell samples. My doctor usualt exams my vulva, lips, and clit as well as my anus. Thats it, thats pretty much it, not so bad really.
